BRG SLK 4 data acquisition device
The device developed at BRG was intended to replace punched tape and punched card technology, as input data recorded on magnetic tape could be read into the computer more easily.
The goal of the development was to replace paper-based data carriers, making data entry easier and more secure.
Use
- replacement of punched card and punched tape technology
- large-scale data recording
- data processing
- measurement data collection
- education
Main users:
- OUTDOOR
- MÁV
- Volán Elektronika
- Electrical Works
- Debrecen Rolling Bearing Works
- EMÁSZ
- TIGAZ
- Mátra Region Wood Processing Plant
- etc.
Structure
Main units
- analog and logic control circuits
- magnetic tape cassette handling mechanism
- alphanumeric keyboard
- 16-character alphanumeric matrix display
- optionally: arithmetic unit
The device was sold built into a separate workbench, including a power supply.
Operation
The data entered from the keyboard was recorded on a standard audio cassette using a special frequency mix, based on the factory's experience in voice recording, using a patented process. The error-free recording was achieved through error correction and verification procedures.
The recorded data was entered into the computer using a wideband converter type EK 9006. The data traffic was carried out according to the BSI standard.
