László Végső
The topic of his diploma thesis is: The dynamic role of Lie groups and Lie algebras (supervisor: Dr. Géza Györgyi).
Between 1970 and 1988, he worked at the Computer Laboratory of the Computer Coordination Institute (SZKI) led by Győző Kovács, in the Program Development Department of Lóránt Sánta.
From 1975 he was the head of the Scientific Applications Independent Group (TACS) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
In 1976-1977, he was a visiting researcher at the Central EEG Laboratory of the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm on a six-month UN scholarship.
From 1979 he was the deputy head of the Software Application Laboratory (SAL), and from 1981 to 1988 he was its head (personally participating in professional work). The most important application areas: development of computer systems in medicine, bibliography, static calculations, forestry, corporate management. In addition to the development of application systems: maintenance of RPG I and II compilers for Siemens, development of a software development support system for IBM machines, its sale on the German market. Attempts were also made to create expert systems.
The development of the application systems was initially done on a mainframe, later on 8-bit and then 16-bit SZKI-developed personal computers (M08X, Proper 16). More important applications: computer evaluation of brain electrical signals (evoked responses and spontaneous activity), in cooperation with the National Scientific Institute of Neurosurgery. By applying the previously developed processing methodology (similarity matrices), the microcomputer online sleep evaluation system developed in the mid-1980s has been used in daily work at the Gedeon Richter Pharmaceutical Factory for 10 years. Other applications: hearing impairment testing, statistical evaluation system for the Institute of Occupational Health, calculation of the total wood mass of a forest for the Ministry of Agriculture.
Between 1988 and 1990, he was a member of the board of MULTI Small Cooperative, and between 1989 and 1992, he was the General Manager of Santa Cruz Associates (California). In 1990, he was the founding CEO of MULTI-LINGUA Inc., and from 1996, he was the founder and CEO of 3V Systems, Inc. (Petaluma, California).
