Márton Vargha
His first job was the Computer Science Group of Semmelweis University of Medicine (SOTE), where he worked mainly on statistical support for medical research for five years.
He then worked at the State Administration Computer Service (ÁSZSZ), where he also performed statistical work. Together with his ÁSZSZ colleagues, he also formed a private enterprise - a so-called civil law company (pjt-t), which was fashionable at the time - to create a computerized soil information system.
Later, for years, he managed the national database of children with leukemia at the SOTE II Pediatric Clinic.
Between 1986 and 2002, he was a computer and telecommunications journalist, editor, and sometimes editor-in-chief (Computerworld, Telecomputer, Heti Chip, etc.). His articles and writings on the development and progress of Hungarian IT and telecommunications before and after the change of regime were regularly published.
From 2002, as an employee of the Ministry of Education, he completed the Unified Curriculum System (ETR) project. Between 2004-2006, he dealt with strategic issues at the Ministry of Information and Communications (IHM).
Meanwhile, he also worked as an environmental activist; he was primarily concerned with connecting two areas: the enforcement of the user pays, polluter pays principle in road transport on the one hand, and satellite positioning on the other.
Since his retirement in 2010, he has been working as a contract employee of the Air Working Group of the National Environmental Protection Association to reduce environmental pollution caused by traffic and to introduce urban road pricing.
