    He is the head of the Engineering and Business Intelligence Research Laboratory of the Computer Science and Automation Research Institute (SZTAKI), and also the director of the Industry 4.0 Research and Innovation Excellence Center established by the Institute and the strategic research program related to the digital transformation of industry.

    Associate Professor of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Manufacturing Science and Technology of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), External Member of the University Doctoral Council of the Corvinus University of Budapest (BCE), Supervisor of the BME Pattantyús-Ábrahám Géza Doctoral School of Mechanical Sciences, External Member of the University of Miskolc (ME) Hatvany József Doctoral School of Informatics.

    His research areas include production informatics, cyber-physical manufacturing systems, the application of artificial intelligence in production, and cooperative and sustainable production networks.

    He is the author or co-author of more than 215 scientific articles, including 85 refereed journal publications; 21 book chapters, 91 international conference papers, co-editor of 3 books. He is a party to 10 registered international patents.

    He is a full member of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP), where he is the former president of the Production Systems and Organizations section and is currently the vice president of the editorial board. He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Engineers, co-editor and editorial board member of six international scientific journals. He was the vice president of the Hungarian Society of Production Engineering.

    Awards: MTA János Bolyai Research Scholarship (1998-2001), MTA SZTAKI Institute Award (1995, 1998, 2004, 2009, 2013, 2021); MTA SZTAKI Publication Award (2007, 2014, 2017); Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (2008); Faculty Memorial Medal (ME Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, 2010); Ottó Benedikt Award (MTA SZTAKI, 2016); Dénes Gábor Award (Novofer Foundation, 2021).
