Márta Turcsányi-Szabó
He has been working and teaching at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) since 1979, initially as a technical teacher and then as an assistant teacher. Between 1997 and 2006, he was the head of the TeaM lab, between 2006 and 2010, the Media Informatics and Technology group, and from 2011, he was the head of the T@T Lab and the T@T Kuckó. In 1999, he became an associate professor at the Department of Media and Educational Informatics. Between 2017 and 2022, he was the deputy dean responsible for educational innovation at the Faculty of Informatics (IK) of ELTE, and then became the dean's commissioner.
Between 1991 and 2002, he worked as a second-line computer systems coordinator at Nomura Value Bank, where he was responsible for the institution's entire computer system.
His area of expertise is the research and application of “experience-based technologies that facilitate learning”. He leads projects won in domestic and international R&D competitions involving students, and operates T@T Kuckó, which promotes digital tools and their role in experience-based learning. He was once responsible for the development of telehouse mentoring and digital experience center models. He is one of the developers of the e-Learning and hybrid education strategy of ELTE IK.
He has also taught abroad (Universität Wien; HBMSU (Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University) Dubai), and in the school information and communication online distance learning ('ICT in Primary' MOOC) launched by UNESCO and the University College London Institute of Education. He is a speaker and organizer of numerous international conferences, and a reviewer for professional journals.
Member of the Public Education Scientific Council of the Ministry of the Interior and the Presidential Committee of Public Education of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
He is a member of several domestic and international professional organizations; has participated in UNESCO projects; and is a member of the Education Committee of the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP).
He received the Tarján Rezső Award for his IT education activities from the Hungarian National Academy of Sciences (2003), and the “Multimedia in Education” ring from the Multimedia in Education Department (2015). His other awards include: “STEM Higher Education Good Practice” award (Tempus Public Foundation, 2014); the International e-Learning Association (IELA) gold award in mobile education (2014); Multimedia in Education ring (Esterházy Károly Catholic University, Eger, 2015); Ottó Hutter Award (e-Learning Forum, 2015); IT Teacher of the Year Award (Association of Leading IT Professionals (VISZ), 2016); Albert Szent-Györgyi Award (Minister of Human Resources, 2016); Pro Facultate Informatica Commemorative Medal (ELTE IK).
