  • After graduating from university, he was a technological engineer in the field of diode production at the United Bulb Co., Ltd., and then worked on the design of international professional scientific information systems (within the KGST) at the Technical Scientific Information Institute of the Ministry of Metallurgy and Mechanical Industry.
    He continued this work at the Organization, Planning and Information Center (ESZTIK) of the Ministry of Health between 1978 and 1983, where he first participated in the domestic tasks of the Medinfo international medical information system, and later in the national coordination of the development and application of domestic healthcare and medical computer systems as secretary of the Computer Application Committee of the healthcare sector.

    From 1983, his work at the National Technical Development Committee (OMFB) included the closing of the Central Development Target Program for Computer Technology, then the coordination of several subprograms of the Electronic Economy Development Program, and he also organized the development of medical expert systems. As deputy head of department at the Ministry of Industry, he was the coordinator of the National Research Programs in the field of energy between 1987-90. In 1989, he participated in the establishment of several national foundations related to education and research and in the screening of industrial research institutes.

    Between 1991 and 1996, as the President and CEO of the 500-person electronics and automotive manufacturing company Kvattro Rt., he was the professional manager of the implementation of the computerized production control and related quality assurance system, which was among the first introduced in our country, and also obtained the ISO 9001 certification. The company also won the title of excellent supplier of Suzuki.

    From 1996, he was the project director of the Hungarian Investment and Asset Management Company, and within this framework, he was also the strategic director of Bakony Művek.

    Between 1998 and 2000, he worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister of the Prime Minister's Office, dealing with information society issues and, among other things, under his leadership, a professional document entitled "Theses on the Information Society", defining the tasks of the future, was prepared.
    Between 2000 and 2002, under his leadership as the director of the Hungarian Post Electronic Marketplace, an e-marketplace with many functions suitable for electronic commerce was created (among the first in our country), which operated for more than ten years.

    After his professional activities, he was the head of the Press and Photo Archive of the Hungarian Telegraph Agency (MTI, after its transformation MTVA) from 2004 to 2015, where he worked as a project manager until 2016 after his retirement in 2015.

    He has been teaching e-commerce and e-business at the Budapest University of Technology (BME) since 2003.

    He has written and edited numerous books and book excerpts and given nearly a hundred professional presentations at conferences on the effects of the information society, e-commerce, quality assurance, and large text and photo databases.

    He is a member and board member of many professional and civil organizations: member of the board of the Informatics Department of the Hungarian Economic Society (1998-2003), founding and board member of the Association for Electronic Commerce (2005-2008), and board member of the Management Training Foundation of the Organization and Management Science Society (2002-2019).
    In 2017, he founded the e-Weekdays section of the John Neumann Computer Science Society (NJSZT), of which he has been the president since then. He is also an active participant in the work of the NJSZT Informatics History Forum (iTF), and has enriched the iTF Database with numerous video portraits.
    For his work, the NJSZT awarded him the Neumann Prize in 2019.
