Bálint Szabó
He began his IT career in 1997 as a system administrator at Nitrogénművek Zrt., eventually becoming the company's IT manager. He participated in the development of corporate management systems and process management projects.
From 2007, he worked as the development manager of the IT company Remedios Zrt.
From 2014, he managed the design and implementation of the Electronic Health Service Space (EESZT) as part of a European Union project, then the sectoral introduction and operation of the completed system (EESZT has been collecting and providing data to approximately 25,000 healthcare institutions and the public since November 2017). He managed the operation of the central health IT system first as a module manager, then as a department head of the State Health Care Center (ÁEEK), and finally as Deputy Director General of the National Hospital Directorate (OKFŐ) until September 2022.
In February 2022, the Health Informatics Service and Development Center (ESZFK non-profit kft.) was established under his leadership, and he is the CEO for 1 year.
Subsequently, he became the head of the E-Health Professional Board established at the State Secretariat for Health, and the strategic director of the National Public Health Center (NNK).
Meanwhile, in 2020, he was appointed as the chairman of the National Health Informatics Board (NEIT).
He has written books on the Linux operating system and database management.
He is a regular invited speaker at health informatics conferences.
In recognition of his professional work, he received the "Gold Medal of Merit for Public Service" award (2018, Minister of the Interior); and the Kalmár Prize (2022, National Institute of Public Service).
