László József Sipos
As a professional start, during his college studies, he achieved 2nd place with his thesis in the competition of the Hungarian Association of Information Technology (HTE).
Between 1978 and 1983, he worked as a foreman responsible for the electrical department at the Premix plant of BCR Works (a joint venture of the Bábolna Agricultural Combine, Chinoin and the Richter Gedeon Chemical Factory) in Bábolna.
From 1983 until his retirement, he was an employee of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant (PAV). As a senior communications block supervisor, he carried out the commissioning of the communications systems, and then from 1985 he was assigned to organize the PAV Communications Department and its professional management. Between 1985 and 1992, he participated in several significant developments at the power plant and in Paks (increasing the reliability of the power plant's communications system, IT and fire alarm network; a high-quality cable TV system was built in the city, supplying two thousand apartments; approximately two thousand new home telephones).
He has been dealing with quality issues since the beginning of 1993, and has been involved in the training, qualification and continuous education of staff since then. In 2000, he received the quality system manager qualification from the Hungarian National Committee of the European Organization for Quality (EOQ).
In 2011, the leaders of the National Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) and the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK) invited technical experts acting in the field of nuclear energy application to work on a qualification committee.
For more than twenty years, he has been involved in organizing and developing the Hungarian public engineering chamber system. He became the vice president of the Tolna County Chamber of Engineers (TMMK), which was founded in 1996; then in January 1997, he was elected a member of the Presidency of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK), a position he held until 2017.
He has been publishing since 1978, and his publication activity includes more than two hundred lectures, studies, plans, teaching notes, and three thousand professional articles.
Professional awards: Bronze Pen Award (National Technical Development Committee (OMFB), 1999); National Quality Award for Journalists (Ministry of Economy (GM), 2000); Engineering Journalist Award (Logod Bt. and Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK), 2005); Miklós Kőrösi Award (Tolna County Chamber of Engineers (TMMK), 2009); Tivadar Puskás Award (HTE, 2010); Szilárd Zielinski Award (MMK, 2012); Ferenc Ronkay Energy Engineer Award (MMK Energy Section, 2021); Hungarian Silver Cross of Merit (President of the Republic, 2022).
