    After graduating from the Rákóczi Gymnasium in Budapest, he obtained a degree in electrical engineering (1968) and a doctorate (1974) from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology (BME); he also obtained an engineering teacher's degree there in 1969. He became a candidate of technical sciences (MTA) in 1980; since 1984 he has been an honorary associate professor of BME.

    He was continuously employed at the Telecommunications Research Institute (TKI) from 1968 to 1993.
    Meanwhile, after his postgraduate studies (1975-77), he worked as a researcher at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) in 1978: developing monolithic integrated charge-coupled filters. (He wrote a basic work in Hungarian on the subject in 1983: Digital Filters - Fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing.)
    Between 1982 and 1990, he headed the Signal Processing and Computer Engineering Department of TKI, dealing with the implementation of military and national security telecommunications systems. They installed the 40 GHz Bolero digital military reconnaissance system for 20 years, as well as the Narval encryption family, which ensures the country's entire national security cryptographic data protection. In 1991-1992, he was also the Deputy CEO of TKI.

    Between 1993 and 2017, he ran his own companies to solve government and national data network tasks.
    Between 2001 and 2004, he was the president of the NHIT (National Communications and Informatics Council).
    From 2006 to 2011, he was the leader of the NKTH (National Research and Technology Office) skin surface communication project (INTMON05) at HM Electronics, Logistics and Asset Management Ltd. From 2012 to 2017, he was the leader of an NKFIH (National Research, Development and Innovation Office) UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) project (UWBSRR10) for cognitive radar defense R&D solutions at BHE Bonn Hungary Electronics Ltd.

    He is the (co)author of 275 international and domestic research articles. He also holds patents in the USA.
    He has been a member of the Hungarian Society of Communications and Informatics (HTE) since 1992. He was the editor-in-chief of the journal Híradástechnika from 1997 to 2000. He is a Life Senior member of the IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
    In 1985, he received the Silver Medal of Merit for Labor, and in 1987, the Gold Medal of Merit for Service to the Homeland.
