István Siklósi
He began learning programming in high school in 1966. His first job after university was at the Information Processing Laboratory (Infelor), where he participated in the creation of COBOL compilers. Later, at its successor institution, the Computer Applications Research Institute (Számki), he participated in the research project called Structured Abstract Models (SAM) led by Bálint Dömölki.
Between 1975 and 1980, he supported R10 users in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) at VIDEOTON's customer service in Berlin. In 1981, he again participated in the development of a COBOL compiler at the MBP software house in Dortmund, where he was introduced to the then emerging world of PCs. From 1983 onwards, he developed innovative PC applications as a freelancer, including a Home Banking system for the Österreichische Länderbank.
In 1990, he founded 4D Soft Ltd. with two partners, of which he was the managing director until his retirement in 2012. Here, he designed corporate applications and led their implementation and introduction as a project manager.
He led project management practices at the Faculty of Informatics of ELTE for years. He is a member of the Project Management Association.
After his retirement in 2012, he developed a new electronic book format, the so-called z-book (Zoomable Textbooks), which primarily makes the reception and memorization of course materials, as well as the use of reference manuals, more efficient.
