Márton Salamon
In 1973, he started working at the Computer Engineering Department of the Central Physical Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (KFKI), as an operating systems developer. He was a member of the group developing the MINOR operating systems for KFKI's self-developed TPA 70 computer. He participated in the programming of the software systems of the TPA 11 machine family and in the development of a system supporting the microprogramming of the machines.
In 1988, KFKI founded ICON Számítástechnikai Kft.; several large complex computer systems were implemented in Hungary and the former socialist countries. After the change of regime in 1990, the opportunity arose to cooperate with the world's large IT companies. ICON Kft. was a recognized Hungarian partner of the largest multinational companies (IBM, Microsoft, SUN, HP and others).
For more than 20 years, until his retirement, he worked as the managing director of ICON Ltd. and actively participated in the work of the board of directors of KFKI Számítástechnikai Rt.
Between 2009 and 2011, as a member of an international consortium led by the Budapest University of Technology (BME), he led research and development projects focused on the development of systems to support the lifestyle of elderly people.
