Date of birth:

Place of birth:
Budapest
Date of death:

Education, professional qualification:
  • Electrical Engineer - BME - 1963. (Majoring in Telecommunications)
  • Academic degree:
    PhD - BME – 1984

As a junior engineer at the Telecommunications Research Institute (TKI), he was tasked with developing and installing wireless transmission systems. Then, computer network research began in the department he was already leading.
He joined the Unified Computer System (UCS) project, which was launched in the late 1960s, as the supervisor of telecommunications and data transmission development work.

When development and production were transferred from TKI to the Telephone Factory, he became a department manager in the Development Institute established there. His task was to develop Hungarian-developed remote data processing peripherals (simple and intelligent endpoint devices, microprocessor-based central multiplexers) related to the ESZR mainframes, and then to conduct their international approval. He also managed the development of remote data processing software components (test programs, operating system elements and user programs) in accordance with ESZR specifications at the Telephone Factory. He organized and held several successful lecture series on these topics with his colleagues at the Institute of Engineering Education of the Budapest University of Technology (BME).

From 1989, he took on the responsibility of organizing the distribution and sales of the products of the American software company Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) in Hungary and the Soviet Union.

After the change of regime in 1990, the possibilities of remote data processing (later termed: network) developments changed significantly. As the commercial director of an independent small business (Hálózat Kft.), then two start-up businesses (CORE Computer Kft., and then SCI-Network Zrt.), system design, expert consultation and market work with available modern network devices, systems and various solutions came to the fore. He was also responsible for representing the devices of several international market-leading product manufacturers in Hungary and introducing their solutions to the market. In the process, he maintained professional and commercial relations with a very wide range of potential domestic users. During this period, the issue of wireless networks came into focus again – after 40 years. Of course, the field of expertise changed over time; understanding and mastering new technologies framed his professional career.

He also actively participated in the work of the National Youth Service Association.
