    Since 1977, he has been working at the Széchenyi University (SZE) in Győr and its predecessors (KTMF, SZIF), where he applied from his previous workplace, the RÁBA Hungarian Wagon and Machine Factory.

    As a professor at the Department of Informatics, he carries out diverse research and educational development work, working on domestic and international research projects. The focus of his scientific work is on the methodological aspects of the application of information technology (IT) opportunities, thus he deals with information system theory, modeling and analysis/design/development methods, the effects of IT on business life, and research on the history of IT. Due to his mathematical interests, operations research, mathematical-statistical and decision theory methods play an important role.

    The result of his PhD research is the copyrighted RTEBP (Reengineering Technology for the Effective Business Processes), a methodology developed for the reorganization of business processes in Central and Eastern European countries, which is successfully applied in many companies. His work is characterized by more than a hundred domestic and international lectures and publications. The 32 independently authored books are not only teaching materials for use in higher education, but also a useful guide for those involved in system and organizational development.

    In addition to the development and implementation of curricula and subject programs, great emphasis is placed on researching effective methods and techniques for knowledge transfer, talent management, and involving deserving students in scientific work. The work of the Scientific Student Circle is characterized by numerous national student achievements and awards.

    Secretary General, Councillor, Board-member of IFIP (International Federation on Information Processing). Vice-Chair of WG8.9 Enterprise IS of IFIP TC8 Information Systems Committee. Member of the International Group of Object-Oriented Developers (OTUG). Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Alexander Foundation for the Intellectuals of the Future”.

    Member of the Hungarian Association of Business Information Systems (NJSZT) since 1975. Vice-President of the Hungarian Association of Business Information Systems (NJSZT) for two terms. One of the founders and president of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Organization of the Hungarian Association of Business Information Systems (NJSZT). Initiator and president of the Economic Informatics, Research and Education Forum (GIKOF); chief organizer of the National Economic Informatics Conference Series (OGIK). Editor-in-chief of the GIKOF/SEFBIS Journal (SEFBIS: Scientific and Educational Forum for Business Information Systems). Member of the Operations Research and Economic Modeling Societies.

    Awards: Pedagogical Service Memorial Medal (Minister of Human Resources, 2013); Neumann Award (NJSZT, 1999); Publication Level Award (2000, 2001); Master Teacher Award (National Scientific Student Council, 2003); “Informatics Instructor of the Year” (Association of Leading Informatics Professionals, 2005); “For Hungarian Informatics” Award (Ministry of Informatics and Communications, 2006); IFIP Internal Service Award (2010); Lifetime Achievement Award (NJSZT, 2020).
