  • Between 1966 and 1969, he worked as a scientific group leader at the Electrical Industry Research Institute, applying computers in the field of power-current design and modeling.

    Between 1969 and 1989, he held a number of responsible positions in the National Technical Development Committee (OMFB). First, he organized Hungary's participation in the Intergovernmental Committee on Computer Technology in the Unified Computer System (ESZR), then in the Mini Computer Pulp System (MSZR) program. After that, he participated in the work of the Central Computer Development Program (SZKFP); later, he managed this work and supervised the Computer Research Target Program. He was instrumental in software exports reaching $30 million per year and in providing basic computer training to two hundred thousand people. From 1975 to 1989, he was one of the organizers of electronics license purchases, a member and then chairman of the Hungarian-French government committee on electronics, and a member of the management board of cooperation between Hungary and the German Siemens group.
    From 1983, he coordinated the high-tech sectors. Finally, he coordinated the computer science and electronics studies of the OMFB.

    Between 1986 and 1989, he was responsible for the national medium-term research and development plan, the economy-oriented research program, and the government program for electronicization. In the meantime, in 1987, he studied in the USA as a scholarship holder.

    Between 1989 and 1990, he supervised the manufacturing industry as a State Secretary in the Ministry of Industry. From 1991 to 1994, he participated in the development of the computer services of the Parliament.

    From 1994 to 1995, he was Minister of Industry and Trade in the Horn government. He was the government's representative for COCOM affairs, the multilateral trade embargo against Eastern Bloc countries.

    Between 1995 and 1999, he was the Chairman of the Hungarian Oil and Gas Company (MOL Company), between 1999 and 2002, the Head of the Energy Sector of Ganz Holding Company, and between 2002 and 2004, the Acting CEO of the Hungarian Electricity Company (MVM).

    His diploma theses: "Optimal design of asynchronous motors using digital computers" (Moscow Institute of Power Engineering); "Alternatives for managing R&D processes" (College of Politics). Later he regularly published in professional journals.

    He was a member of the editorial board of the journals Automatizálás, Mérés és Automatika, and Számítástechnika. He was a member of the Association of Technical and Natural Sciences Associations (MTESZ) from 1968. He participated in the work of the automation and computer technology committee and the applied informatics committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

    His awards: Neumann Prize (NJSZT, 1987); Order of Friendship of Peoples (Soviet Union); Loránd Eötvös Prize (Council of Ministers, 1988); Order of the Star of the Hungarian People's Republic (1988). He is the holder of the bronze and silver degrees of the Order of Merit for Labor, the Borbála Prize for Mining (1995) and the Pro Inventore Prize (1995).
