    Between 1972 and 2013, he was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences (TTK) and then at the Faculty of Informatics (IK) of ELTE, and finally an associate professor. Initially, in 1972, he participated in the development of the then-launched training program for programmers and then program design mathematicians. He taught programming methodology, programming languages (Ada, Java, Eiffel), and comparative analysis of programming languages.

    In 1995, he earned a PhD in Informatics from ELTE, and then received a Széchenyi Professorship between 2000 and 2003.

    From 2001 – at the request of Tamás Roska – he helped develop education at the then-established Faculty of Information Technology (and Bionics) of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE) as the Deputy Dean for Studies.
    He was the dean of the ITK between 2006 and 2012 (he received a certificate signed by his students at his farewell).

    As an associate professor at PPKE, he taught the subjects Data Structures and Algorithms, Theory and Practice of Programming Languages, and Computers and Programming. Meanwhile, he taught the subject Comparative Analysis of Programming Languages at ELTE IK as a lecturer.

    His research and teaching areas include programming methodology and programming languages. He has written more than 60 publications on these topics; he is the editor and co-author of numerous books and textbooks (e.g. Java Guide for Programmers, Ada95 Programming Language, Comparative Analysis of Programming Languages, etc.).

    Member of the Informatics and Computer Science Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

    Honors: Pro Universitate Award (ELTE, 2004); Pro Universitate Award (PPKE, 2012); Officer's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit (President of the Republic, 2012).
