  • Electrical Engineer - BME - 1958. (Department of Communications and Low Voltage)

  • He worked in the Cybernetics Research Group (KKCS) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences from February 1959. He gained deeper knowledge of computer technology in the team that created the M-3. He participated in the operation and further development of the M-3. From October 1964, he worked on the design of large-scale information systems in the Economic and Systems Technology Research Group (GRKCS) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Automation Research Institute (AKI). He then led the development of the DIGIRAD plant control and information system.

    From the summer of 1968, he participated in tasks related to the founding of the Computer Coordination Institute (SZKI), and from mid-1969, he became an employee of SZKI; he founded and headed the Hardware System Technology Laboratory (HRL). He participated in the domestic small computer development program; he was the chief designer of the R10, R12 and R15 developments. He was the professional manager of the development of the Proper personal computer family.
    He participated in the work of several domestic and international research and development and policy bodies. From 1980, he worked as the Deputy General Director of the Hungarian Institute of Industrial Engineering, then as the Executive Director, and from 1991 as its first manager.

    In 1995-1997, he was the IT director of CGSAT, DÉLTÁV Rt., and then DIGITEL 2000. Between 1997-2014, he was the managing director of TOLBO Bt., providing IT consulting services. Since 1994, he has been a forensic expert in IT topics.

    In 1990 he was awarded the Neumann Prize.

    • His book "The Road to Cybernetics" (reviewed by Bálint Dömölki and Győző Kovács) was one of the most successful publications of its time, and for many it was the introduction to computer science.
    • The 1966 textbook Y. Chu: “Fundamentals of Digital Computer Design” (Technical Publishing House, Budapest, proofreader: József Drasny) also served to establish professional knowledge and expand technical language. It was mainly translated by him.
