    In 1959, he began working in operations research as a researcher at the Institute of Building Economics and Organization (ÉGSZI).

    From 1962, he was the head of department of the Ministry of Construction (ÉM) Computer Administration Automation Company (Számgép).

    In 1966, he was the head of department at ÉM Computer Management Automation Company.

    From 1967 he was the head of the Information Processing Laboratory (Infelor). In 1969, while director Ferenc Rabár spent a year in the USA on a scholarship, he replaced him.

    Between 1969 and 1970, as Deputy Director of Infelor, he was a consultant for the management of a major investment project as a delegate of the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) in Turkey. During this, he successfully applied the PERT (program/project evaluation and review technique) technique. He was an expert in project management.
    He defended his PhD thesis in 1971.

    In 1972, he was a department head at the Central Statistical Office (KSH); in this position, he was appointed a member of the Water Management Computer Technology Committee.

    From August 1972, he was appointed director of the newly established National Office of Computing (KSH OSZI), a position he held until 1981. As director, he performed important scientific organizational tasks in the application and national coordination of computing.

    After returning home in 1985, he helped establish Diebold Hungary Trading and Service Ltd., a joint venture between CM Diebold, Comporgan and Metrimpex, of which he became managing director.

    After his retirement in 1991, he was an advisor to the Political State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. As such, he became a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hungarian Enterprise Development Foundation.

    In May 1992, he was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Magyar Hitelbank (MHB).

    The Hungarian National Academy of Sciences awarded him the Neumann Prize in 1979.
