Janos Minárovits
After graduating from high school, he worked for a year at the Institute of Electrical Automation (Vilati), and then, after graduating from the Kecskemét College of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, his interest turned to telecommunications, computer technology, and data transmission.
In the second half of 1974, he worked as a programmer at the Székesfehérvár Grinding Machine Factory of the Székesfehérvár Machine Tool Works (SZIM), then from 1975 he was employed as a gauger at the Videoton Computer Factory; he soon became a service manager and then a foreman.
In 1985, he founded the Albacomp Computer Cooperative with former Videoton engineers, of which he was the president from the beginning, and then the CEO after its transformation into a limited liability company. The enterprise became a defining player in the domestic IT industry for nearly two decades from the early 1990s.
After the acquisition of the Computer and Administrative Management Company (SZÜV) in 1995, he also became its CEO, until it merged with Albacomp in 2011.
Retired since 2016; he continues to participate in the management of the Albacomp group of companies as a consultant and strategic director. The main pillars of the company's strategy are renewable energy developments and investments (solar panels) and participation in the development and utilization of new data transmission technologies (smart city, smart home, smart metering) - both at home and abroad.
He is a founding member and former vice president of the Fejér County Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also participates in the work of several professional organizations and advisory boards.
In 2020, the management of the Fejér County Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FMKIK) awarded him a lifetime achievement award.
- The Albacomp group supported the Székesfehérvár men's basketball team as the title and main sponsor for nearly two decades, winning 3 championship titles.
- He regularly supports charity events in the city and county.
- Albacomp has a decades-long partnership with the Alba Regia Faculty of Engineering of Óbuda University: they provide internships for students and actively participate in dual training.
