    He began his university studies in Szeged as a mathematics and physics teacher, then (as a third-year student, abandoning the physics major) he enrolled in the applied mathematics (calculator) major started by László Kalmár – thus graduating in the second year of the Szeged school. He wrote his thesis on the algorithms of the transportation problem (attaching the M-3 machine code program of the Hungarian method to the thesis).

    His first job was at the Dunai Vasmű (DV) in Dunaújváros, where, under the direction of Ferenc Gémes, he participated in the development of the first Hungarian linear programming model for optimal smelter mix calculation, also preparing its M-3 program.

    He also worked at the Computer Center of the Ferrous Metallurgy Directorate of the Ministry of Metallurgy and Mechanical Industry (KGM), at the Computer Center of the Industrial and Economic Organization and Computer Technology Institute (KGM ISZSZI) of the Ministry of Metallurgy and Mechanical Industry, and then at Hungarocamion.

    Meanwhile, he was an external lecturer at the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of BME. Here, on the one hand, he defended his doctoral dissertation and, on the other hand, he actively participated in obtaining and fulfilling the department's industrial assignments.
