Gabor Kollath
He began his career at the Hungarian Post Experimental Institute as a strategic planner (participating in the development of basic telecommunications technical plans, the optimization and digitalization of the Hungarian telecommunications network).
Later, as the planning director of Kontrax Telekom, he managed the planning and then implementation project of the First Pest Telephone Company.
From 1993, he worked for ten years in the Product Management organization of Matáv (Hungarian Telecommunications Company) as a department manager, later as deputy director; he participated in the development and introduction of numerous modern products, services and tariff packages.
From 2000, he was the head of Matáv Consulting for two years, and in the following two years, he managed Matáv's pricing policy as the head of Matáv's Pricing Office.
Since 2004, he has been the director responsible for corporate customers at Ericsson Hungary Ltd. After that, he was the director of Aastra Hungary.
From 2009, he was the Director of Frequency Management of the National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH), later the Deputy Director General of the Authority (his duties included frequency and identifier management and the management of the Authority's technical activities and organization).
He joined the National Infocommunications Service (NISZ) in 2012, where he played a significant role in the implementation of the first phase of the GSM-R system in Hungary. He is a member of the board of directors of Pro-M between 2020-2023.
From 2023, he will serve as Secretary General of the Hungarian Association of Information and Communication Sciences (HTE).
His awards: Pollák-Virág Award (HTE, 1987); Békésy György Memorial Medal (PKI, 1990); Technical Creative Awards (PKI, 1990 and 1991); HTE Gold Badge (2008 and 2020); Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit (President of the Republic, 2023).
Hobbies: traveling, sailing, skiing, teaching skiing.
