  • As a second-year applied mathematics student, he was one of the leading programmers at the Department of Numerical and Computer Mathematics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences (TTK) of ELTE. In 1974, he joined the training of programming mathematicians by teaching the subjects Programming and System Programming. Later, he taught the following subjects: Programming Basics, Algorithms, Algorithms and Data Structures, Development of Notable Object-Oriented Applications. In 1977, he was the head of the Operational Software Group of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of ELTE.
    He is a recognized writer and editor of basic computer science books, textbooks, and workbooks.
    He participated in and managed several large software development projects.

    In addition to his successful professional work, he actively contributed to the launch of the IT (computer science) teaching program at ELTE. An entire generation of IT teachers consider him their mentor.

    In 1984, he was a member of the Council of the Institute of Mathematics of the ELTE Faculty of Science, then in 1987, he was a member of the Council of the Department of Informatics, and between 2003 and 2008, he was a member of the Faculty Council of the ELTE Faculty of Informatics.

    Between 1985 and 1987, he was a lecturer at the College of Commerce and Hospitality, and between 1996 and 2000, he was a second-term lecturer at the Károli Gáspár Reformed University.

    He was popular among his students; according to one of them, he was the only teacher whose lectures he attended throughout his entire career at ELTE. He prepared many of his students for participation in the Scientific Student Association Conferences (TDK); his students achieved national second place in 1993 and national first place in 1997.

    As a student, he received a distinguished first prize at the 1973 National Scientific Student Association Conference (OTDK). His professional activities were rewarded with the Kalmár Prize by the National Scientific Association in 1984. In 1987, he was awarded the Technical Book Publisher's Standard Prize.
