Andrea Kő

After graduating from university, he was employed at the Marx Károly University of Economics (MKKE). In 1992, he obtained his doctorate at the successor institution, the Corvinus University of Budapest (BCE), and in 2005, his PhD degree; he habilitated in 2012. University professor at the Department of Information Systems of the BCE Institute of Informatics. Since 2015, he has been program director at the BCE Doctoral School of Business Informatics.

He is a member of the board of the Business Informatics Research and Education Forum (a professional organization of the National Institute of Business Administration). He is a member of the Research Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Budapest, and of the international and Hungarian organization of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

His main research areas: application possibilities of infocommunication technologies (ICT), intelligent systems, knowledge management, semantic technology solutions.
Subjects taught: business intelligence, data warehousing and business analytics, data mining fundamentals, data value chain and the data-driven economy, unstructured data analysis and management, IT audit, quality audit, knowledge management, Business Intelligence, Electronic Commerce, Management Information Systems, Intelligent Systems.

He has participated in numerous international and domestic research projects in various areas of business intelligence, data analytics, semantic technologies, and applications of infocommunication technologies. He has several PhD students in the subject.
He has published more than 100 papers at scientific conferences, in journals, and in books.

Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Class IX. Public Board. Editor of the international journal Journal of Computing and Information Technology, the journal Vezetéstudománya, as well as the journals Gazdaságinformatikai Fórum (GIKOF) and the Scientific and Educational Forum for Business Information System (SEFBIS). Volume editor of the scientific publications Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science LNCS 8650, LNCS 8186 and LNCS 8061.
