    He was a leading expert in programming theory and database management at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA SZTAKI).

    In 1977, he defended his candidate's thesis entitled "On the solvability of resource allocation problems" at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, while in 1984, he defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Specification database models".

    He was an active organizer of contemporary Hungarian professional events. For example, between 1974 and 1980, he organized the "Visegrad Winter School" series on the theory of operating systems, together with Mátyás Arató and László Varga.
    He actively participated in the IFIP TC2/WG2.6 working group, in the organization of conferences held in Hungary and in the editing of conference documents.

    He made significant contributions to database research until his early death.

    Awards: Academic Award (MTA, 1984); Kalmár Award (NJSZT, 1988).
