József Kecskes
After graduating from the commercial high school, he studied law at the Pázmány Péter University (PPTE), but did not graduate. Between 1947 and 1965, he worked as a chief accountant and accounting system organizer at several institutions.
From 1954, he worked at the National Council of Trade Unions (SZOT) as chief accountant and then as deputy director.
Between 1961 and 1964, he worked at the Ministry of Heavy Industry (NIM) as an organizer of the chemical industry, and then became the chief lecturer at the NIM Institute of Industrial Economics and Plant Organization (IGÜSZI).
From 1965 to 1969, he worked at the Central Statistical Office (KSH) Computer Center.
In 1969, he was appointed director of the Statistical Publishing Company (SKV). Over the years, they published journals and publications such as the professional journal Information-Electronics, then the Computer Science Years, the NJSZT years, later the newspaper Computer Science and the Mikroszámítógép Magazin. The SKV published professional publications reporting the latest results, continuing education notes, and system technology bulletins.
He played a significant role in SKV surviving the 1990 regime change and remaining a functioning publishing and printing house.
He retired in 1989. As a retiree, he ran an accounting and tax consulting business.
His work was recognized by the NJSZT with the Neumann Award in 1983. His other awards include: Excellent Worker, Silver and Gold Degrees of the Order of Labor Merit, For Socialist Culture, April 4th Order of Merit.
