  • He was a lecturer (1948–1951), associate professor (1951–1953), and finally head of the department (1953–1957) at the Department of Political Economy of the Hungarian and then the Karl Marx University of Economics (MKKE).

    Scientific associate of the Institute of Civil Engineering and Economics, deputy head of department of the Ministry of Construction (ÉM) (1957–1963), director of the ÉM Computer Company (1963–1967).

    Scientific associate of the INFELOR Company (1967–1969), Deputy CEO of the DATORG Company (1969–1973), Head of the Computer Engineering Department of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) (1973–1984). Director of SG2–MKB Financial Informatics Ltd. (1984–1990).

    He is a member of the editorial board of the international journal Management and Information.

    First Secretary General, then Deputy Chairman, and later Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Hungarian Federation of Information Processing (NJSZT). Hungarian member of the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) (1963–1981).

    His work was recognized by the Hungarian National Academy of Sciences with the Neumann Prize in 1976.

    • In 1956 he participated in the work of the Petőfi Circle, and then during the revolution (October–November 1956) he was a member and secretary of the Revolutionary Committee of the Hungarian Intellectuals. During the 1957 reprisals he was expelled from the university, then rehabilitated as a university professor in 1991.
