    He worked as a research assistant, associate and then assistant professor at the Kossuth Lajos University (KLTE) and its legal successor, the University of Debrecen (DE). He received his doctorate in 1982.

    His research interests include mathematical statistics, object-oriented programming (OOP), data models, system development methodologies, ontologies, and didactic problems in computer science education.

    He participated in university education as a civil servant from 1974 to 2011. He was one of the developers of the concept of credit-based education at the university and of the information systems specialization of the undergraduate program in computer science and the master's program in computer science. He regularly works with students participating in the Scientific Student Association Conference (TDK); two first-prize and multiple-place thesis were written under his supervision at the National TDK (OTDK) until 2017.

    He considers it his passion to help secondary and primary school IT education (and teachers). He regularly participates in adult and vocational training both as a teacher and examiner. In recent decades, he has participated in the organization of more than 70 domestic and international IT and methodological conferences. Together with co-authors, he writes and translates several professional and textbooks, and proofreads and edits even more.

    He is involved in the design and implementation of specific information systems in the following areas, among others: production programming, word processor development, business management systems, management information systems, decision support, and medical-biological applications.

    In 1999, he was awarded the NJSZT Neumann Prize; in 2022, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
