Alfréd Hinsenkamp

Date of birth:
1939.01.14.
Place of birth:
Budapest
Education, professional qualification:
  • Electrical Engineer - BME - 1962.

  • His first serious job was at the Electronic Experimental Instrument Manufacturing Plant (EKMŰ) of the Central Physical Research Institute (KFKI); here he was first a hardware developer and then the head of the Measurement and Service Group. He was active in the production of the multi-channel analyzer manufactured by EKMŰ, and then in its use and operation by users.

In 1969, he moved to the Hardware Laboratory of the Computer Coordination Institute (SZKI), which had been established a year earlier, as head of the hardware development department. In 1970, he participated in training in Munich to operate a Siemens 4004 computer.
The National Scholarship Council made it possible for him to go on three scholarship study trips in the 1970s: in England (1974), Japan (1978), and Germany (1979).

While at SZKI, he joined the work of the Unified Computer System ESZR, and developed an Interactive Design and Documentation System, including a computer-aided tool for designing printed circuit boards, component placement, and documenting the design results. At the same time, he began to work on gate-array design.
As a hardware developer, he was tasked with developing a floating-point hardware operator for the French CII Mitra125 computer with very tight performance specifications, which he successfully solved with acclaim. This development was the pinnacle of his circuit design activities. - CII colleagues came to Pest to receive the completed operator, uploaded the floating-point test program and started it, then, due to the expected longer running time, they suggested that they go for lunch. The company set off, but they hadn't even reached the door when the machine indicated that the test had run successfully. The shock was indescribable; they had expected faster operation, but how could it be this fast!

From 1986 - at his request, with permission from the main authority - he worked in Germany. His work: development and commissioning of automatic production systems using Siemens production automation elements and solutions (CIM systems) - in Germany and Sicily.

He returned to Hungary in 1991 and took on smaller system development and software development tasks as a private entrepreneur.

In 1995, he was invited to Sysdata Kft. (the Hungarian subsidiary of PSE in Vienna) to head the software development department operating in the field of telephone network management. He adopted and localised the project management and quality management methods and tools standardised at the Vienna parent company: such as project experience workshops, team leader training, holding workshops, risk management, conflict management, crisis management, cost estimation, quality management, moderation of discussions, group dynamics.

His successful project management activities (including agile methods) were recognized by the Project Management Institute with the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification in 2004. - Active member of the Hungarian Project Management Association (PMSZ).

He retired in 2003, but continued this activity for many years as an external expert, including for Siemens Rt.

He holds eight patented inventions, mostly in the field of hardware design and prototype implementation.
