Between 1982 and 1986, he developed digital telephone exchanges at the Telecommunications Research Institute (TKI).
Between 1987 and 1989, he was a software developer at Rolitron Informatika Rt., and then its director from 1992.
Since 1997, he has been the President and CEO of Synergon Informatikai Rt. (In 1999, Synergon was the first domestic IT company to go public.)
He was a founding member of the Association of Information Technology Enterprises (IVSZ) since 1991, and its president from 1994 until his death. He was a promising, dynamic IT leader with great hopes.
The IVSZ award, founded in 1997 and titled "Manager of the Year in Infocommunications", was renamed the Tibor Gyurós Award in 2001.

- He was the victim of a plane crash at a young age. He loved extreme sports. He learned to fly a small plane in 2000; he obtained his license a few months before the tragic accident.
