László Gimesi
Between 1981 and 1993, he worked as a computer science employee at the South-Dunántúli Tervező Vállalat, and from 1988 he was a department manager; he dealt with network development, program development, GIS, technical and administrative programs, database development, and higher and adult education.
Between 1993 and 1999, he worked as a technical manager at MiniComp Ltd., dealing with program development, CAD development, GIS development, database development, and higher and adult education.
He has been a university lecturer at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Pécs (PTE) since 1993. His teaching and research activities include computer programming, basic computer science, computer networks, multimedia, systems engineering, computer graphics, data mining, geospatial information systems, modeling, and artificial intelligence.
In 1987, he earned his doctorate from the Budapest University of Technology (BME) with his thesis entitled “Computer-aided structural design”, while in 2011, he earned his PhD from the Óbuda University (ÓE) with his thesis entitled “Data mining and GIS methods with biological and meteorological applications”.
Member of the Computer Science and Informatics Working Committee of the Pécs Academic Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Expert in legal matters. Member of the Climate Change Adaptation Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Office of Supported Research Groups (TKI).
