István Füvesi
From 1972, as a scientific associate at the Cybernetics Laboratory of József Attila University (JATE), he worked on the design and implementation of computer systems, and participated in the education of students majoring in program design mathematics.
Between 1982 and 1992, he worked part-time as the head of the Szeged branch of the Computer Applications Company (Számalk), organizing the training of computer science specialists and also participating in their education.
In 1990, he joined the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences (TTK) of the University of Szeged (SZTE) as an assistant professor; and he taught IT-related subjects at 4 other faculties of the University of Szeged (SZTE). He currently teaches at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics (TTIK).
His interest later turned to information and communication technologies (ICT). He switched to teaching these topics in full-time and correspondence courses, as well as in master's degree teacher training. As an ICT mentor and ICT development process consultant, he held further training courses in many schools across the country between 2006-2010. As an equal opportunities and accessibility infocommunications trainer, he held more than ten 60-hour courses between 2011-2014.
He regularly participates in adult and vocational education both as a teacher and examiner; since 2005 he has been the OKJ (National Qualifications Register) examination chairman. Between 2005 and 2012 he also served as the matriculation examination chairman. In recent decades he has been a speaker at more than 80 domestic and international IT conferences, and has participated in the organization of more than 10. He has been a member of the NJSZT since 1977.
Awards: Ministerial Commendation (Minister of Culture, 1982); Pedagogical Service Commemorative Medal (Minister of National Resources, 2012).
