László Fedina
After graduating summa cum laude, he conducted physiological research for 17 years at the SOTE Clinical Experimental Research and Institute of Physiology No. 2. He went on several study trips abroad for several months (University of Heidelberg, FRG; Institute of Normal and Pathophysiology, Moscow, USSR; University of Gothenburg, Sweden; Orbel Institute of Physiology, Yerevan, USSR).
In 1974, he was invited to become the first director and scientific advisor of the then-established Computer Science Group at Semmelweis University of Medicine (SOTE). Around this time, he co-created the CHRONOS chronic patient tracking system.
He was the chief physician and head of the Department of Physiology at the National Institute of Neurosurgery (OITI) from 1981. From that year, he was appointed as an honorary associate professor.
From 1992, he worked as a department head at the Ministry of Social Welfare, then at the Education Department of the Ministry of Culture and Public Education, which was formed from it, and then at the Department of General Higher Education until his retirement (1995). After his retirement, he worked at the Department of Physiology at the OITI and the Institute of Physiology at the SOTE; he also translated patents and technical books, and later short stories and novels.
During his scientific work, he dealt, among other things, with examinations using non-invasive methods, their methodological and measurement technology problems, and the development of instruments for this purpose.
He was a member of the board of the Hungarian Physiological Society and a member of the Theoretical Medicine Committee of the Scientific Qualification Committee (TMB) (1986-95), as well as of the Measurement Technology and Automation Science Association (MATE) and the National Society of Medical Sciences; from 1975 he was a member of the board of the Medical Biomedical Department of the National Society of Medical Sciences.
