László Edelényi

He was the head of the mechanical work on the first domestically built computer, the M-3 computer, built in 1957 by the Cybernetics Research Group (KKCS) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

A Telefongyár Rt.-ben (Edelényi László és Ladó László találmánya alapján) 1959-ben kezdődött el egy vegyes (elektroncsöves és jelfogós) ügyviteli gép, az EDLA I megépítése – a gyár munkatársainak, valamint az M-3-at építő mérnökök és matematikusok közreműködésével. (A gép neve a két feltaláló első két betűjéből ered.) A továbbfejlesztett változat, a tranzisztoros az EDLA II prototípus szinten maradt, a berendezést sohasem gyártották.

He then worked as a department head at the Economic and Systems Engineering Research Group (GRKCS) and then at the Information Processing Laboratory (Infelor). During this time, he worked on the computerization of industrial production processes.

Until his death, he was the chairman and director of the organizing committee of the highly successful COMPCONTROL international conference series.
