    From 1985, he supported biological and physiological research with mathematical and biostatistical methods as a scientific associate at the Computer Science Center of the Semmelweis University of Medicine (SOTE). Later, he became the scientific head of the Research and Education Department of the Computer Science Center (one of his main research areas was the temporal prediction of lung cancer and the modernization of its screening method, for which he and his colleagues developed a screening system adapted to PCs in the early 1990s - this was used at 6 screening stations in the Budapest area; he also defended his PhD dissertation on this topic).

    In 2010, he took over the position of director of the health care organization training institute at the Faculty of Public Health of Semmelweis University (SE), later known as: - and became the deputy dean of the faculty. SE has its own PhD program in the field of medical informatics. In 2013, he was appointed as a university professor, and in 2019, he was awarded the title of professor emeritus.

    He was also involved in pharmaceutical research for a long time and edited a book on this field (Human Drug Development, Medicina Publishing House, 2006).

    He teaches the subject of developing teaching methods for biostatistics in undergraduate and independent PhD courses at SE. He taught biostatistics to bionics engineering students at the Faculty of Informatics of Pázmány Péter University for about 10 years.

    He was a member of or participated in the activities of several domestic and international professional organizations: the Medical Biomedical Department of the John Neumann Computer Science Society (NJSZT) (executive member); a member of the Medical Informatics Professional College; a member of the Medical Informatics Working Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Veszprém; he was the founder of the Hungarian Clinical Biostatistics Society.
    In 2016, he received the “Pro Universitate” award from Semmelweis University.
