Gabor David
In 1967, he began working at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Computer Science and Automation Research Institute (SZTAKI). Between 1969 and 1973, he was the scientific secretary of the Board of Directors, and between 1974 and 1984, he was the head of the computer architecture design group. He is also a well-known participant in domestic computer science events and an editor of various professional publications. His early research areas: statistics and computer architecture.
From 1974 to 1990, he was abroad several times, where he conducted and directed various research/development projects.
From 1988, he was the Research and Development Director of Novotrade Rt., then the Managing Director of Industrial Design Services Ltd. In 1991, together with English and Qatari investors, he founded Banknet Ltd., where he was first the Technical Director and then the Managing Director.
It played a pioneering role in the introduction of digital, satellite-based data transmission systems. It was among the first to launch (with the cooperation of international service providers) a commercial Internet service that provided a direct connection to the European and American Internet backbone.
Under his leadership, a unique, highly efficient satellite service was developed and introduced in our country.
- He implemented his ideas with tireless work ethic, constant attention, creativity, and as a determined and prepared leader. At the same time, he was a mathematician, an innovator, a lover of the arts and literature, an informed, family-oriented, socially sensitive, and a true Renaissance man.
