Bela Csorba
From 1965 he worked as an electrical technician at the Cybernetics Laboratory of the József Attila University of Szeged (JATE) (later at the Kalmár László Institute of Informatics of the University of Szeged). Under the direction of Dániel Muszka, he installed, operated and maintained the first computers (M-3, Minsk 22, R-20, then R-40) that came to the University. He participated in factory training courses on several occasions in the Soviet Union and the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
From 1985, he worked as a system administrator at Taurus Rubber Company, and later at the Csongrád County Land Office. After that, his professional career took a turn away from IT.
After his retirement, in 2000-2001, Dániel Muszka asked him to inventory and systematize the Hungarian archive IT equipment collected under the auspices of the National Institute of Information Technology. The importance of the work was that younger IT specialists were no longer necessarily familiar with the equipment of the time, and a complete inventory and catalog of the collection had to be prepared in order for it to be granted museum status. – In the meantime, Dániel Muszka helped bring quite a few of the equipment into working order.
Since there was a huge interest in the stored devices from the very beginning, he also held guided tours at pre-arranged times. He was able to show several archive devices in operation during the exhibition.
Until his death in 2015, he worked tirelessly and wholeheartedly on the materials of the Informatics History Collection. He had incredible knowledge and memories of certain objects, so he was able to give immersive guided tours - including at the Informatics History Exhibition (ITK) opened in 2012.
