Katalin Bognar
He gained his first professional experience in industry: he worked as a developer at Videoton Electronics Company (1977-1984), Flexicomp Ltd (1984-1988) and Comporgan Systems House (1988-1990). At Videoton, he also participated in the development of four software products registered with the Copyright Office.
In 1990, he was appointed as an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science at Kossuth Lajos University (KLTE). After a long study trip to France on a scholarship, he obtained his PhD degree at the Université de Savoie (Chambéry) in 1997.
He actively participated in professional and university public life. Among other things, he was a member of the Faculty Council (1997-1999), PhD program secretary (1999-2001), Institute Erasmus coordinator (1998-2001), and Ceepus H73 coordinator (1997-1998).
At the University of Debrecen (DE), he also served as Institute Secretary (2001) and as a member of the Institute Council from 2003. From 2002, he worked as an editorial board member of the journal Teaching Mathematics and Computer Science.
Between 2005 and 2008, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Informatics Cooperation Center and Deputy Dean of Economics of the Faculty of Informatics (IK) of the University of Budapest.
His research and teaching areas were knowledge-based technology, descriptive logics (LL), semantic web, and ontologies.
He has published in Hungarian, English and French. He has participated in numerous study trips and conferences abroad and has given lectures. He was the local coordinator of several research projects based on international cooperation. He has successfully provided his doctoral students with foreign scholarships, consciously helping them build their professional careers.
He has been a member of the NJSZT since 1990.
