    He began his career in 1978 at the Development Institute of BHG Communications Company, where he worked on the development of stored program-controlled telephone exchanges. In 1988, he became the head of the Software Department and led the development of network exchanges for domestic closed-purpose networks.

    Using the results of successful developments, he led the design and operational testing of the first domestic electronic rural center, the ER-256, from 1989. From 1995, as a project manager of BHG Telco Kft., he contributed to the development of network systems for several institutions and universities with his practice and experience - also in cooperation with renowned consulting companies.
    In parallel, from 1993, he was the vice-chairman of the Telecommunications Engineering Qualification Committee, established by the then Telecommunications Act and operating as an advisory body to the minister, for 6 years.

    From 1998, he worked as a deputy presidential advisor at the Hungarian Communications Authority (HIF) for three years. In 2001, he was the head of the Telecommunications Systems Department of the National Communications Authority (NHH), and then of its successor's Technical and Technological Analysis Department from 2004. In addition, he was intensively involved in the preparation of the 2003 Electronic Communications Act, in communications regulatory tasks related to EU accession, and then in market analysis work according to the EU regulatory framework program.

    Since 2010, he has been the Head of the Technology Analysis Department of the National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH). During his work, he deals with current and future technological development trends and their regulatory aspects. Representing the NMHH, he has been a member of the Broadband Forum (formerly DSL Forum) technical working group, ITU-T SG 13 working group, since 2001; he regularly participated in the work of the European regulatory authorities, the ERG (European Regulatory Group), and then BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications).
    Since 2018, he has been a member of the ITU-T Future Network 2030 focus group on next-generation networks. Since 2020, he has been a member of the EU Emergency Telecommunications Expert Group.

    He is the author of about eighty professional publications and conference presentations, as well as numerous studies and co-author and editor of several technical books. He regularly lectures at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME); he has been an honorary associate professor of BME since 2006. He has also been a permanent lecturer at the postgraduate infocommunications law program of the University of Pécs (PTE) since 2006.

    He has been a member of the Hungarian Association of Telecommunications and Informatics (HTE) since 1973. Since 1990, he has been a member of the HTE management in various positions: with interruptions, he was the Deputy Secretary General for nine years, and then the Secretary General of HTE between 2011-2017. He is currently a member of the board responsible for the professional communities of HTE. He also worked as the editor of the journal Híradástechnika for twenty years between 1990-2009.
