Gabriella Varga Bán
His first job was at the Ministry of Construction Computerization and Management Organization Company (ÉM Számgép), where he was a program designer. In 1976, he earned a doctorate from ELTE, with a thesis on the development of linear algebra methods, in mathematics (computer science). From 1978 to 1992, he worked at the Computer Application Research Institute (Számki), then at the Computer Application Company (Számalk), as a developer and as a teacher. Here he began to deal with program design methods, and later he established, taught and directed the Applied Program Design course at the Számalk Educational Office. The Program Design Practices book was also used as a teaching material by Számalk and the Gábor Dénes Technical College of Informatics.
In 1992, he founded Case Partners Ltd. with a partner, of which he remains the managing director in 2022. The founders set the goal of technologized software development, which means a unified development methodology in both system design and implementation. He designed several large systems and taught the methodologies in the process. He also regularly held seminars on these topics abroad.
Later, he moved on to the development of data warehouses and BI (Business Intelligence) systems. In addition to implementing projects, he also taught methodology here and dealt with the connection of theory and practice. In these topics, he wrote a book in 2012 entitled The Technology of Data Warehouse Creation; and in 2022, Conceptual Data Modeling and Relational Database Design.
