Péter Árvai
He was one of the first students to participate in the newly introduced Master's Program in Media Technology and Engineering at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm between 1999 and 2005 (after graduating, he became a co-founder of the university's alumni organization). During his university studies, he participated in the 12-month "Vulcanus in Japan" program established by the EU and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He completed a training program in Japan at Fuji Xerox. As part of his business internship, he studied economics in Singapore as an exchange semester.
After graduating from school, he founded the company omvard.se, which won the title of best website in Sweden in 2009.
He later became Vice President of Product Portfolio at the Swedish mobile communications company Mobispine (where he and his colleagues developed the first mobile news reader, TED Talks, which was suitable for following conferences from mobile devices).
In 2009, Péter Halácsy and Ádám Somlai-Fischer co-created the Prezi presentation software; he was the co-founder and CEO of the company Prezi, which he founded for this purpose, for 12 years. Together with the more than 100 million Prezi users, he created the world's largest library of publicly available presentations. With a total of several billion views, Prezi is one of the most widely used brands to have originated in Hungary.
- He is committed to strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit of young Hungarians, to empower them to take on the global market with confidence and faith. He was the co-founder and president of Bridge Budapest in 2013, which combines entrepreneurial initiative with a business culture based on self-confidence based on knowledge and performance. He is the co-founder of We Are Open, an organization of over 1,000 Hungarian companies that strive to create diverse and inclusive workplaces.
- The European Commission named him Entrepreneur of the Year; the Royal Institute of Technology awarded him the title of Alumni of the Year.
- He has appeared in the Financial Times columns countless times as one of the world's most influential LGBT leaders.
