Writings section
This section contains written materials collected so far on the history of computer science in Hungarian context, grouped according to the following topics.
- General history of computer science: writings on the international history of computer science;
- Hungarian history of informatics: articles presenting the history of domestic informatics, including the role of Hungarian professionals in global informatics;
- Writings on the history of IT in specific fields (e.g. education, industries, public administration, etc.);
- Materials describing the IT history of certain (domestic) institutions;
- Historical writings on specific products (hardware-software devices or application systems);
- Writings about people (biographies, testimonials, etc.).
With Quick Search, you can search for the name of the author(s) and for words occurring in the title.
The Writings list is a table, each row of which describes the most important parameters of a material (author, title, etc.). From here we can access the data sheets, from which in some cases – if they are stored electronically – the writings can also be downloaded.
Our goal is not to provide a complete bibliography of any field: professional publications and other materials can only be included in the section if they have a direct relevance to the history of information technology.
The Database also contains writings called auxiliary materials, which are not significant in themselves (e.g. a person's CV), their only purpose is to be referenced in one of the entries in the Database. These are not included in the Writings list, but e.g. search programs can find them. The list of auxiliary materials can be displayed here.
If you, the dear reader, can help with further collection or clarification of existing data, please provide the available data via the data form called up by the Send Message button in the sidebar. We thank you in advance for all submitted data forms.
