  • Main goals and areas of activity

Siemens has been building the first tram line in Budapest for over 130 years.

It has been a part of everyday life in Hungary since its launch in 1887. It plays an active role in the development of metropolitan infrastructure and public transportation, in power plants that provide energy production, in the energy efficiency of buildings, in diagnostic tools for hospitals, and in design software for car factories.

The company's domestic past is also significant on a historical scale: the construction of the first tram line in Budapest created the opportunity to found the company in Hungary, and the company then became one of the largest employers in Hungary even before World War II.

After the change of regime, the company played an important role in the domestic dissemination of the most advanced technologies and in attracting working capital investments. Today, it is a pioneer in dual vocational training and contributes to the country's economic and social development with its active R&D activities.
