Magyar Posta Zrt. (hereinafter: Company) is a universal postal service provider under the laws governing postal activities. The primary task of Magyar Posta Zrt. is to provide the universal postal service defined by law.

1526. Ferdinand I commissions the Taxis family to operate the first regular mail service between Vienna and Bratislava.
1703-1711 . Ferenc II Rákóczi had an independent Hungarian postal network in the areas under his jurisdiction.
1722. By decree of Charles III, the postal service, mail delivery, and the right to establish post offices were declared a regalia. He had the coat of arms of the empire placed on the post office buildings, regulated postal tariffs, developed the postal route network, and subordinated the operating post offices to the main court post office in Vienna.
May 1, 1867. The law declaring the compromise transferred the Hungarian post office to the competence of the Hungarian Minister of Agriculture, Industry and Trade. Mihály Gervay was appointed as the national postmaster general. The law stated: The post offices of Austria and Hungary were to be managed separately, but according to uniform principles. The official language of the post office was Hungarian and the use of national symbols was reintroduced. Name: Hungarian Royal Post Office
1887. The post office and telegraph office are merged, 1888 they are nationalized and the telephone service is integrated into the post office organization.
1891. Founding of the Postal Experimental Station, which would become the PKI
1893. Telephone newsreader begins operations
1908. The XII. Tc. of this year declared the complete independence of the Hungarian Post.
1923. The first Hungarian radio transmitter is put into operation in Csepel.
Television and ultra-shortwave radio broadcasts began in 1957.
The spread of the crossbar technique began in 1967.
1983. The Hungarian Post Office becomes an independent authority
