NOVODATA Computer Technology Ltd.

NOVODATA Számítástechnikai Zrt. provides business management software solutions to more than 1,300 pharmacies, numerous social homes and manufacturers and distributors of medical devices, as well as several companies engaged in retail activities.

In 1992, based on an APEH regulation, the use of fiscal memory in cash registers became mandatory, for which our pharmacy system received permission.
By 1993, the number of installed pharmacy systems exceeded 500. We introduced software for new areas: the NOVOHOSP hospital pharmacy and department system, the NOVOHOST restaurant system, and the PHARMAINFO drug information and expert system.

In 2005, our NOVOTTHON system was launched, which helps with medication management in residential homes, and in 2008, based on the needs of our network partners, we launched our Pharmacy Center service.

Other significant developments: In 2007, the PHARMAINFO patient information system received the official certification required by the regulation (approved by the National Institute of Pharmacy). In 2011, we switched from floppy TB accounting to the eReport solution with our systems, and in 2013, the Tax Control Unit for cash registers was introduced, for which all relevant NOVODATA systems obtained a license.

In 1988, a few enthusiastic professionals founded the NOVODATA Computer Cooperative, the legal predecessor of NOVODATA Computer Co. Ltd. The development of hardware and software solutions necessary for the operation of pharmacies began.

In 1990, we became a joint-stock company, and NOVODATA Számítástechnikai Rt. was born.

In order to further develop the company, on December 1, 2014, the owners sold a significant part of their shares to Apotheken-Dienstleistungsgesellschaft mbH (ADG), one of the most significant players in the German pharmacy IT market, based in Mannheim.

LX-Line Kft. has been owned by ADG mbH, a German pharmacy system administrator, which is also a member of the German Phoenix group, since 2002. This ADG mbH accepted the request of Novodata Zrt., as the latter company was for sale, and its majority shareholder, Mr. Balázs Kovács, also contacted ADG about this matter. Eventually, the latter company became the owner of Novodata, and as a result, a situation arose where ADG has two subsidiaries present in the same market. Neither is subordinated to or superior to the other, we are talking about two sovereign sister companies.

In 2001, we received ISO 9001:2001 certification for our entire operations, which we have been confirming every year since then.

In 2004, we were awarded the Business & Success Certified Enterprise title and became an IBM Business Partner. Two years later, we were awarded the IBM “Business Partner of the Year” title and became an IBM Service Partner.
