Microsec zrt.'s legal predecessor, the Microsec Számítástechnikai Fejlesztő Kisszövetkezet, was founded by eight electrical engineers in 1984. In 1991, the small cooperative was transformed into a limited liability company under the name Microsec Számítástechnikai Fejlesztő Kft. The company has been growing continuously since then, and in 2005 it rented new offices in Graphisoft Park, at which time the number of employees exceeded 50. Microsec has been operating as a private limited company since January 1, 2012. In 2019, the number of employees reached 100, so the company moved again - now within Graphisoft Park - to a larger, more spacious office building.
