Export and import of laboratory instruments, office machines, automation and electrical instruments, and computer equipment.
It exported and imported computer equipment and devices to the CEEC countries, capitalist countries and the third world. They traded hardware, software and barter. It was an important player in the import of ESZR and MSZR machines, the import of Western mainframe computers, and the export of Hungarian software products and programmers abroad.

It was spun off from the former ELEKTOIMPEX (Electrical and Fine Mechanical Foreign Trade Company) on January 1, 1956.
The foreign trade monopoly was abolished at the time of the change of regime. Thus, in 1991 it was transformed into a company, and then in 1992, following privatization, it was abolished through transformation.
At that time, from its foundation until 1990, foreign trade was a state monopoly.
Some other companies also received occasional foreign trade rights (e.g. VIDEOTON, TRANSELEKTRO, etc.).
He was a member of the Interministerial Committee on Computer Technology.
It was the first to open a representative office abroad. The first in Moscow.
In 1971, it became an excellent foreign trade company.
