KERSZI was created by merging KERORG and KERINFORG. KERSZI was headed by KERINFORG's leader, Director György Vasvári. After the transformation, the KERORG team was somewhat relegated to the background, which later made it difficult to implement individual projects on a systemic level.
As a result of the privatization that began in the late 1980s, the then management of KERSZI supported the outsourcing of certain areas to limited liability companies. As a result, businesses were created that had significant intellectual capital but limited working capital. In many cases, these businesses were able to remain successful.
- Novorg – work organization subsidiary, book publishing
- Kerinforg – company evaluation and organization
- Hungarovideo Ltd. – video business
- Kerszi register kft – cash registers
When KERSZI moved to Bécsi út in 1993, practically only the Food Department was active.
The Ministry of Internal Trade played a decisive role in the establishment of KERSZI. During the operation of KERSZI, subsidies from the ministry in the form of state orders were continuously received, but the management tried to keep the income from such subsidies below 20% of the total income. The reason for this was primarily that the ministry's influence on KERSZI (the degree of vulnerability) could be reduced in this way. Although this strategy was basically successful, the ministry intervened when it felt that KERSZI was growing beyond the desired size. As a result of such intervention, the agreement between KERSZI and several hotel companies that KERSZI would create the reservation system for these hotel companies failed.
It is important to note that KERSZI's activities played an important role in the fact that by 1983, 60-70% of retail companies and nearly 100% of wholesale companies were using computer equipment and (or) services in some form.
