The privatization of Hungexpo was completed in July 2005. The new owner is the French GL events group, which undertook the development of the Fair Center. The 5 billion investment began in April 2007 with the laying of the foundation stone of the new, multifunctional G pavilion and ended with the ceremonial inauguration of the pavilion on October 18, 2008.
