Mechanical Engineering Scientific Association
To bring together professionals working in the Hungarian industry, especially the mechanical industry and related fields (research, development, training and further training, plant organization, quality, safety technology, standardization, trade, etc.) and companies and organizations supporting the association, to develop their professional knowledge and provide background support for their activities. To serve the national and international interests of the domestic industry, to provide professional, expert and advisory activities, and to establish and maintain relationships.
Representing the country at the international level in his field of expertise.

The Association is the heir to the traditions of the Hungarian Engineers' Association (from 1872 the Hungarian Engineers and Architects' Association), founded in 1867. Within this, it continues the activities of the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments. GTE is one of the largest scientific and social organizations in the country, uniting the technical intelligentsia, and is a member of the Association of Technical and Natural Sciences Associations (MTESZ).
The MTESZ, founded on June 29, 1948, was joined by the Mechanical Engineering Scientific Association (GTE), founded on February 19, 1949.
