History:
In November 1911, the Swedish Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson decided to establish a company in Budapest: together with the Hungarian General Credit Bank, it formed the Ericsson Hungarian Electricity Co., Ltd., purchasing the factory of the “Deckert and Homolka” company.
The automation of the rural telephone network began in the 1930s. Based on an agreement with the Hungarian Post Office, 55% of the equipment was supplied by Standard and 45% by Ericsson. However, in 1937, Ericsson decided to sell its Hungarian factory.
Recognizing the untenable state of the telephone situation in 1968, the decision was made to purchase a main exchange license for BHG. The Post and BHG specialists chose the LM Ericsson AR family from several systems examined. After 30 years , Ericsson was once again involved in the development of the Hungarian telephone network.
However, on December 5, 1990, a new chapter began: Ericsson Technika Kft. was registered at the court of registration, and after a name change, Ericsson Hungary Communication Systems Kft.
