1037 Budapest, Montevideo Street 8,
4iG Plc., headquartered in Budapest and with a majority Hungarian ownership, is a dominant group of companies in the telecommunications and IT markets of Hungary and the Western Balkans, and a leading company in the knowledge-based digital economy. The fresh and innovative approach of the capital market company listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange, as well as its position as the leading IT system integrator in Hungary, elevates the group to the leading retail and business service provider of the region's digital transformation. The company's cross-border expert and knowledge base and capital strength form a solid foundation for its becoming a dominant market player. Thanks to its dynamic expansion strategy, 4iG has become a key player in the telecommunications market of Hungary and the Western Balkans.
4iG's diversified telecommunications and IT portfolio provides the group with a significant competitive advantage over traditional telecommunications companies. The group stands out in the competition with domestic and international service providers thanks to its unique expertise in the Hungarian market. The group's telecommunications services are based on a significant infrastructure. The group provides high-level services to its residential (B2C) and business (B2B) customers with 32.5 thousand kilometers of optical network and 4275 transmitter towers, base towers and repeaters.
As a result of the cooperation with 4iG's strategic partner, Rheinmetall, the defense industry in Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe, especially in the field of defense industry digitalization, could become a dominant market player in the coming years. The company, founded jointly by German and Hungarian companies, has significant potential in the field of defense industry IT, which could become a significant player in Hungary and the EU, and in the long term globally.
4iG and its legal predecessors have been present in the IT solutions market for nearly 30 years, becoming Hungary's largest and market-leading IT system integrator by the end of 2021. The company strives to develop a diversified, platform- and manufacturer-independent portfolio in IT, and due to its nearly three-decade history, it maintains strategic partnerships with all the world's leading suppliers and vendors.
Thanks to its expansion strategy in the Hungarian and Western Balkan markets, 4iG has become one of the region's leading telecommunications groups by 2022. Three-quarters of the group's revenues and more than 90% of its EBITDA already come from this segment.
4iG's telecommunications portfolio is consolidated by Antenna Hungária, in which the Hungarian state has a 23.8 percent stake. Thanks to the transactions carried out in the past two years (Hungaro DigiTel, Invitech, DIGI-group, Antenna Hungária), the group of companies has become the second largest telecommunications service provider in Hungary, and with the acquisition of ONE Crna Gora in Montenegro and One Telecommunications and ALBTelecom in Albania, it has become the dominant telecommunications service provider in the Western Balkans region.
In August 2022, the group announced that it would jointly acquire 100% of the shares of Vodafone Hungary Zrt. with the Hungarian state. Following the successful completion of the acquisition, 4iG Plc. would acquire 51% of the company, while the Hungarian state would acquire 49%. Following the market-shaping acquisition, the group will become a convergent service provider in Hungary, which will enable it to be a competitive challenger to the largest telecommunications service providers.
The company has several major international investors. In addition to the majority owner Gellért Jászai (51.22%), Rheinmetall (25.12%), one of the world's most significant defense and automotive companies, is a strategic partner, while the Portuguese-based Alpac Capital (7.41%) and the Turkish Çalık Holding (3.16%) also have significant ownership stakes in the company as financial investors.
